No portion of the fare and surcharges (YQ/YR) will be reimbursed if a ticket is non-refundable. On the other hand, supporting documentation must be presented for approval in markets where local government regulations must reimburse YQ & YR, and fare conditions should appropriately reflect this.
Nonetheless, there are some situations in which the following unavoidable conditions, at the sole discretion of QR commercial management, may result in ticket refund requests for limited documents being granted:
1. The following factors may prevent passengers with confirmed QR tickets from boarding flights:
When a passenger's QR flight is delayed, they choose not to use the option that QR offers and instead book a different flight on their own managing a flight appropriately by the schedule and aircraft modifications.
A proper medical certificate must be supplied if the passenger or a Near Relative (please refer to QR conditions of carriage for applicability) has a terminal illness before the flight departs.
Inability to conduct a flight as a result of exceptional circumstances or occurrences falling under the category of an Act of God or Force Majeure. These circumstances encompass a variety of situations, such as flooding, severe weather, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, war, political turmoil, strikes, riots, etc. There will be a QR Commercial Policy that will address exceptional events and circumstances and act as the foundation for approving refunds.
Some clients might not be able to enter Doha with a visa. Customers of Qatar Airways may be denied a visa by the immigration authorities in Qatar.
2. A refund of the ticket may also be required because of printing or system issues.

If a published OW is not found on the same RBD, ATPCO CAT-33 is coded with a booking class mapping to determine the next available OW to automatically compute the refund under ATC transactions. Station Pricing must notify the Fare Distribution Team of any changes to the current OW structure (such as publishing new OWs in lower RBDs or withdrawing OWs from the existing structure) to guarantee proper CAT-33 coding, which must also be verified at the time of publishing fares.
*Note: A manual deduction from YQ/YR will be made if the cancellation penalty exceeds the ticketed fare.
If the fare is not refundable, no portion plus YQ/YR can be recovered.

The base fare of the original non-refundable ticket remains non-refundable even if the non-refundable fare is reissued as a refundable fare, YQ / YR.
When segments need to be rescheduled, canceled, or refunded between 48 and 3 hours before departure, the travel agent should confirm whether the e-ticket coupon is still valid.
Airport Control 'A': The coupon has been sent from the QR Reservation System to the other airline (the operating carrier of the code-share aircraft or the interline carrier) or the departure control system.
Passenger 'C': has been checked in and is permitted to board the plane.
It is advised to confirm whether the coupon has been checked in with the closest QR Office or Customer Contact Center if some GDSs display an A status or ARPT.
If the coupon has been used for check-in, the passenger must be released before rebooking, exchanging, or receiving a refund. A simple segment cancellation will result in the passenger being treated as a no-show and not being removed from the check-in system. Due to the no-show, the travel agent may be in danger of incurring an ADM in this situation.

The airport staff will need to handle the offload if the traveler checks in there.
The last time to offload is three hours before departure if you want to reschedule, reissue, exchange, or get your money back.
